Contributing to a culture of caring and well-being in the university environment | Free training

15 October 2021

What kind of role model do you want to represent in your team?

The Faculty of Forestry, Geography and Geomatics and the Centre for Research on Renewable Materials (CRMR) of Laval University invite the faculty, professional and student communities to the free training session “Contributing to a culture of caring and well-being in the university environment”.

Wednesday, October 15, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. – Online event, in French
Trainer: Félix Guay-Dufour, Project Coordinator at the RBC Centre for University Mental Health Expertise

According to a survey conducted by the Union étudiante du Québec, more than 58% of the university student community present a high level of psychological distress. A recent meta-analysis estimates that the proportion of doctoral students with clinically significant depressive symptoms is nearly 24% (1 in 4 doctoral students).  In recent years, studies on the mental health of the university community have multiplied and the conclusions are converging: action is needed to make university environments more conducive to the well-being and psychological health of all. Although some solutions are structural and organizational in nature, we must not overlook the power we have as individuals to contribute to a culture of well-being and caring in our environment.

This free training session aims to raise awareness of the role you can play and the concrete strategies you can put in place to take care of your own psychological health and that of others in your study or work environment.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED

We look forward to seeing many of you there!
