Symposium «210 – The wood processing industry at the time of the ecological and energetic transition»

From 10 May to 11 May 2022

Université Laval and its collaborators (FPInnovations, Serex, Inovem, Université de Québec en Abitibi-Tmiscamingue, and Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières) are pleased to invite you to the symposium «210 – L’industrie de la transformation du bois à l’heure de la transition écologique et énergétique » which will be held as part of the 89th edition of the ACFAS symposium on May 10 and 11, 2022.

This conference proposes new ways to valorize the waste and by-products of the wood industry, to diversify and especially to optimize the use of wood. For example, promising work on forest bioenergy, the use of cellulose fibers and nanocrystalline cellulose, the development of new products for protection, finishing, gluing or modification of wood with lower environmental impact and increased performance.

In general, the objective of the conference is to create a place for meetings and exchanges between the various actors working closely or remotely in research on wood materials, but also in the private sector.  It will provide an update on the latest advances in the field of biomaterials, advanced materials and bioenergy in the wood industry.

The conference will be held on  May 10 and 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in virtual mode. The speakers will offer a unique and multidisciplinary program. To see the details of the program, click here.

Registration is done on the ACFAS website. You can benefit from a preferential rate until March 31.  To register, click here.

For students, please consider university agreements for free registration.
