Description of the presentation

Is using wood good for the environment? Is cutting a tree bad for the environment? Are there environmental benefits to using wood instead of concrete in construction? These are questions we hear from the general public all the time. As researchers at the Renewable Materials Research Centre, we tend to have conventional answers to these questions, but what about beyond perceptions and prejudices? It is to this last question that I attempt to answer by presenting my research over the past fifteen years on these topics. I have chosen the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology as a tool to do so. I present the LCA methodology and research results and some questions for the future.

To better understand the environmental benefits and issues related to the use of wood materials, don’t miss this conference!

Welcome to all of you!
