“My Thesis in 180 Secondes” competition: Damien Mathis puts wood sciences in the spotlight

Damien Mathis, a Ph.D. student in the NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Eco-Responsible Wood Construction (CIRCERB) and a member of the CRMR, will represent Université Laval during the national final of the “My Thesis in 180 Seconds” competition which will be held at McGill University in Montreal on May 4, 2017 as part of the Acfas International Science Culture Days.

Damien was selected at the Université Laval final organized by the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies on March 28th. His presentation entitled “Storing solar energy in the walls of houses” refers to his doctoral project “Development of new materials of high thermal inertia based on wood and PCM”.

The competition allows graduate students to demonstrate their communication and scientific popularization skills. Congratulations and good luck Damien!
