How can our floors protect us from fire? 
The doctoral project of Solène Pellerin, a student at Université Laval in the NSERC – Canlak Industrial Research Chair in Interior Wood Product Finishing, aims to develop a high-solids varnish that is photopolymerizable and flame-retardant for wood. It is primarily intended for floor coverings, but it can also be applied to other wood architectural elements, thus allowing the increased use of this renewable material in our interiors!
