Laboratories – Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue

Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue

The Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue hosts two laboratories that are part of the CRMR infrastructure. Work on the design and characterization of biocomposites is carried out at the biomaterials laboratory in La Sarre, Québec. The wood caracterization laboratory on the Rouyn-Noranda campus is used to study variations in wood properties, including intra-tree, inter-tree and inter-site variations, as well as those due to intensive management practices.

Injection device Injection device – Used for producing wood-polymer composite samples by injection.

Injection molding Injection molding – Tensile test piece of a wood-polymer composite.

Differential scanning thermal analysis instrument Differential scanning thermal analysis instrument – Used for the characterization of the thermal properties of materials.

Test with torque rheometer Test with torque rheometer – Analysis of the rheological properties of wood-polymer mixtures.

Devoce Device used for the measurement of electrical and dielectric properties of wood and composite materials.
