La semaine verte : The Forest of the Future
The Radio-Canada’s La semaine verte report of February 13 focused on the forest of the future.
The effects of climate change are accelerating and weakening our forests, as well as the industries and communities that depend on them. Researchers are working to better understand how forests will respond to a warming climate. They are trying to develop sustainable management models to reduce the vulnerability of our forests. At the same time, labour in the forestry sector is becoming increasingly scarce. To solve this problem and improve its environmental performance, the industry is relying on technological innovations.
This includes Evelyne Thiffault, researcher at the CRMR and the Réseau MRQ, as well as FPInnovations, an important partner of the CRMR and the Réseau MRQ!
