Free library training on advanced search

The Université Laval library invites you to a training session on advanced research that will allow you to understand how to effectively structure a research strategy, use the full potential of specialized databases, and draw inspiration from the methodology of syntheses to increase the quality of literature reviews.

Course Content :
- Advanced search in Sofia, using the Subject Heading Directory.
- Selection of databases for searching scientific articles
- Development of a search strategy: free and controlled vocabulary
- Structured search strategy according to the recommended methodology for knowledge syntheses
- Overview of different types of knowledge syntheses
- Tools to ensure the quality of a literature review: PRISMA, Covidence and others
- The Library’s Advanced Search Advisory Service
