Evelyne Thiffault and Simon Barnabé encourage Lac-St-Jean to get into position in the emerging bio-economy

A symposium on the bio-economy organized by Forêt Modèle du Lac-Saint-Jean, Innofibre and UQTR was held on Thursday, March 16th in Mashteuiatsh in the Lac-St-Jean region. More than 90 participants traveled to discuss the valorisation of forest biomass in the current context of the bio-economy and to explore synergies between different industrial sectors. Researchers such as  Evelyne Thiffault, Simon Barnabé and Patrice Mangin of CRMR were invited to share their experiences and demonstrate the value of going beyond traditional forest products. The guidelines are now set for this region to stand out in the new bio-economy.
