Congratulations to Véronique Rouleau for her nomination for the Blue Sky Innovation Award | A video message from Minister Geneviève Guilbault

Véronique Rouleau, a doctoral student in forestry at Université Laval, is conducting research to better understand the phenomenon that governs the storage of organic carbon in the soils of managed boreal forests. Ms. Rouleau’s unique proposal combines her extensive knowledge of forestry, soil science and microbiology to develop feasible solutions to sequester carbon and mitigate climate change through forestry practices. The results of the study will enable the management of Quebec’s boreal forest to contribute to climate change mitigation and provide a sustainable basis for a diversified, local, eco-responsible and resource-efficient forest bioeconomy.
