Congratulations to Raphaël Bouchard who has been distinguished on the FESP Honor Roll for the year 2021!
Raphaël Bouchard has been awarded the distinction of being named to the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies’ Honour Roll for 2021 for his excellent academic performance in the Master of Wood Science program. He received unanimous and excellent marks for his thesis from the jury.
In the quest to build better performing structures in a more efficient manner, Raphaël’s research project focused on the study of an innovative connection principle for glulam beams. This principle is based on the transfer of mechanical stresses through a structural adhesive between the wood element and threaded rods that are inserted into it.
Raphaël was under the supervision of Alexandre Salenikovich (UL) and Caroline Frenette (UQAR, formerly Cecobois). His project was in collaboration with the industrial partner Art Massif.
