RECRUITING-PROFESSOR IN PRIMARY PROCESSING-SAWING AND MACHINING

The Department of Wood and Forest Sciences of the Faculty of Forestry, Geography and Geomatics of Université Laval is is seeking a professor in primary processing-sawing and machining. The person recruited will be expected to teach in French at all levels, to support the various departmental programs, particularly the cooperative bachelor’s degree in wood engineering, and to develop a research program in the targeted disciplines. More specifically, teaching and research activities will focus on the following fields:

Sawing, mill layout and wood grading.

Modeling, simulation and optimization of sawing.

Wood machining;

Quality control and industrial statistics.

Application of Industry 4.0 manufacturing approaches to primary wood processing (automation, robotics, deep learning, etc.).
